Your standards. Finally part of daily practice.
COPI is software that guides your clinical team through your stored SOPs and clinical pathways. Your team records the required information during treatment and can see which checkpoints are still open.

The SOP is written. It just never reaches the bedside.
Four everyday situations. You probably recognise more than one.
Your HIS stays exactly as it is.
COPI complements your existing hospital IT and builds on what is already running. No data migration is required. How long the implementation takes depends on the process, the interfaces and the hospital’s internal approvals.
- Your existing HIS stays in place
- Runs on the workstations and tablets you already have
- Integration via HL7 v2.x and FHIR
- On-premise operation within the hospital infrastructure
Agree the process, configure, connect, train, go live.
Why aviation, of all things?
Two of our founders fly as airline pilots. In aviation, standardised checkpoints, clearly assigned roles and defined procedures have for decades helped to structure complex processes reliably and traceably, even under time pressure. We have translated four of these principles into clinical routine.
This is COPI in action
Four functional areas that work together while the process is running.
The pathway stays in view
COPI maps your workflow into phases and guides the team through the process. The phase bar shows the documented current status, with total time and time in the current phase remaining visible.
- Phases and checkpoints configured from your own SOP
- Current phase and case status at a glance
- At each transition it is clear what must be in place
Open checkpoints stay visible
The checkpoints you define run along with the process. If documentation is missing for a step defined as required, a prompt appears directly in the case.
- Prompt for missing documentation
- Open items visible in the case status at any time
- The prompt does not interrupt the workflow
Structured, while treatment is happening
Entries are made at the point of care on the tablets and workstations you already have. The documentation is created in a structured way while the process is running rather than afterwards, with automatic timestamps.
For example at handover: the incoming team can see in COPI which process phase has been documented and which checkpoints are still open. The information and timestamps recorded during treatment make the course of events so far easy to follow.
- Structured entries rather than plain free-text documentation
- Timestamps are created automatically
- The documented current process status is directly visible

Process data you can actually use
Because the documentation is created in a structured way during the process, the data is available both per case and across cases. Defined deviations and time sequences become visible, and developments across several cases can be traced.
- A basis for QM, audits and certification
- Case exports for scientific evaluation
- Starting points for continuous process improvement
A toolkit for your processes
COPI is tied neither to a single condition nor to emergencies. Many clearly describable clinical workflows can be configured in COPI, from time-critical processes to recurring standards.

What changes in daily practice
- Visible in the workflowThe team sees the approved standard where the work happens.
- Clear responsibilitiesRoles and accountabilities are defined within the process.
- A shared basis to work fromTeams work from the same stored process.
- Documented while the process runsDocumentation happens during treatment, not afterwards.
- Less piecing together afterwardsProcess information already documented does not have to be gathered again later.
- Handovers with the current statusThe documented process status is directly visible.
- Deviations become visibleDefined deviations are recognisable within the process.
- Developments across casesRecurring patterns can be evaluated across cases.
- Use your own process dataProcesses can be developed further on the basis of your own structured data.
- Structured exports and analysesCase data can be exported and reused.
- Traceable for QM and evaluationStructured process data support QM, audits and scientific analysis.
A hospital in which critical process information is available exactly when it is needed, and standards are a natural part of the running process.
COPI is already in use
Productive in a stroke unit
COPI is used in a stroke unit in everyday clinical practice. A scientific evaluation of its use is planned. A further process in anaesthesia and the OR is in preparation.

A pricing model without surprises
You pay per department, not per case and not per user. A one-off setup is followed by a recurring licence per department, including updates and basic support. As further departments join, the price per department goes down.
We share concrete figures once it is clear which processes should be mapped. That is what a short scoping call is for.
Briefly answered
What exactly is COPI?
A process-guiding web application for defined clinical workflows. COPI guides the team through the stored SOP or clinical pathway, makes the designated checkpoints visible in each process stage and produces structured documentation while the process is running, right at the point of care.
Which processes and departments is COPI suitable for?
COPI is tied neither to a single condition nor to emergencies. It can map existing SOPs and standard procedures, clinical pathways across several wards, recurring standards in intensive care and ward rounds, surgical and anaesthesia workflows, as well as time-critical emergency processes. COPI currently runs productively in a stroke unit.
How much effort is the implementation?
The technical effort is deliberately contained: agree and configure the process, connect the interfaces, train the team and go live. How long the implementation takes depends above all on the process, the internal approvals and the existing IT infrastructure. COPI replaces no existing system, so no HIS migration is required.
Does COPI replace our hospital information system?
No. COPI complements existing systems via HL7 v2.x and FHIR. Replacing the HIS is not necessary.
How is patient data protected?
COPI is operated on-premise within the hospital’s own infrastructure, in line with the GDPR. During operation, patient data remains in the hospital. Support access takes place only on a case-by-case basis and after approval by the hospital.
What does COPI cost?
A one-off setup plus a recurring licence for each department in use, including updates and basic support. No per-case or per-user billing, with volume pricing from the second department onwards. Concrete figures follow the scoping call.
What analyses does COPI offer?
The dashboard can be configured individually and analyses the documented process data across cases. Commonly used views include the development of phase durations, the completeness of documentation, and trends in timings and documented content. Cases are shown anonymised. For certifications that require proof of compliance with time targets, the evidence can be generated directly from the documentation. Data can be exported as Excel or CSV files, among other formats.
Does it require new hardware?
Usually not. COPI runs in the browser on the workstations and tablets you already have, provided the technical requirements are met.
